To My Sweet Boy Otis

Well I know my last post was about my dog Sadie, I am doing another post about my other dog Otis because we had to put him to sleep early Sunday morning. He was ten years old and has been in my family for the last eight years. I found him in the Provo pound when he was only two and I think my mom was very hesitant at first, but like always she was a good sport with me and being a huge animal lover! Well Otis lived a great life, he spent his time with my mom at her house and lived the lap of luxury. His own yard to run in whenever he so pleased, his own king size bed to sleep in, organic dog food, ice water in his water bowl, a doggie door so he never had to "hold" it until my mom got home to let him out. But even with being so spoiled Otis was hands down the best dog for our family and loved us back unconditionally. He was always happy to see you, his little "nubber" (docked tail) would wag so hard his whole rear end would move back and forth. Although he could clear a room with one of his silent but deadlies I would take those anyday to have him back. He was old for a boxer and the night before we put him down his back had gotten so bad that he could not even move his back legs to get up or walk. I know it was what had to be done, but it was still one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. Otis we love you and will miss you a lot, but now you can stink it up for Steve until I see you again.

Our four-legged family member

I don't blog very often and I especially don't blog much about our furry family member. Sadie our dog is not the "smartest" dog I have seen but she sure is funny sometimes. I was watching the Dog Whisper on t.v. one night and discovered that Sadie was watching the t.v. and she did for the entire hour it was on! Whenever the "troubled" dog on each episode was on t.v. she would run up to the t.v. and try to smell the dog. So she now has her favorite t.v. show tivo'd and will sit and watch it whenever I turn it on for her. She often gets beat on by kenzie and she puts up with ear and tail pulling like a champ so she deserves some credit for being a really good dog.

Halloween

This Halloween was fun. Mackenzie dressed up as Ariel. We did the red hair spray to make her authentic, and of coarse we had to add sparkle spray too. Kenz loved the red hair until it was time to wash it out that night and it looked like "blood!" in the tub! She was pretty upset about that.

At work I am not normally the type to dress up and perform for fellow colleagues. Jason, the social worker at the hospital always plans a fun costume each year for the hospital costume contest and this year he decided to do Rock Band. So myself, Jason, Dave the supervisor and Sherrie dressed up as Rock Band. I personally feel that I look like a pregnant man in my costume, the others did a great job playing the part, I was to scared once we got up there to do anything else but pretend to play the drums(my dear brother Steve was probably shaking his head to my poor attempt, he was an awesome drummer).... I am not the performer kind. Thanks to all of those that came down from mom/baby to support us play and take pictures! Needless to say with my non-performing skills we took the grand prize, all and all it was fun to do it!

Anyone have any good names they are willing to give out??

The official ultrasound today revealed what we thought we saw when we peeked in L&D a month ago. I am no professional but when this little thing popped up on the screen I had no doubt in my mind.

So of coarse I have girl names all picked out, as far as boy names... not so much. Anyone that has some cute ones that they aren't using please let me know! I have come to find out boy names are very hard for me to pick. So far we are leaning towards Braxton, but I am still not set on it.

I found this little beanie at a very cute, but overpriced baby boutique in Gardner Village. I wouldn't normally pay 25$ for one little newborn hat but since Johnny always wears beanies when I saw this I had to get it for him.

What's new....

Mackenzie feels that any bump or bruise she gets needs a band-aid. Well her nose was hurting when she got a cold so I came in and found her watching T.V. with her band-aid on.

And of coarse she loves to have her picture taken so once she saw me trying to be sneaky she wanted to pose for one.

On Sunday we woke up to snow and as soon as Mackenzie looked outside she wanted to go out and play, so we pulled out her snow clothes and bundled her up. Yes, pink is her favorite color.

Not very much snow on the ground, and of coarse it was melted by the afternoon, but Kenz still had fun in it.

Our little snow angel!

Husband Tag

1. Where did you meet? Driving on State Street, then at Harts. I know, I know...
2. How long did you date before you got married? 10 months
3. How long have you been married? 4 years
4. What does he do that surprises you? He is constantly looking for the next thing he wants to buy and have fun with.
5. What is your favorite feature of his? I am quite attracted to his facial features. He has a really amazing nose and a profile that is almost perfect. He also tans like in 5 minutes of being in the sun and me with fair skin really envy's that.
6. What is your favorite quality of his? I have to agree with Jeana on this subject. Johnny is very mechanically inclined and can fix anything. He is also an amazing crane operator and I am always impressed with what he does at work. He is also extremely funny.
7. Does he have a nickname for you? His latest kick has been "wench". Not funny. But mainly it is always babe.
8. What is his favorite color? Silver
9. What is his favorite food? Chicken Alfredo
10. What is his favorite sport? UFC fighting
11. When and where was your first kiss? After about a month of dating we kissed in my apartment.
12. What is your favorite thing to do as a couple? Camping, four-wheeling and sand dunes.
13. Do you have any children? Yes, one and another on the way.
14. Does he have a hidden talent? I am starting to see a likeness with your husband and mine Jeana! When we are listening to songs in the car he will make up words or a verse to the current song being played that is hilarious. I still can't listen to a Tim McGraw song without thinking of when we started dating.
15. How old is he? 30.
16. Who said I love you first? He did.
17. What's his favorite music? Rock.
18. What do you admire most about him? He is extremely sensitive and a wonderful father. When I rent a chick flick he will whine and moan about it but half way through he is telling me to pause it until he comes back from the bathroom because he is into it.
19. Do you think he will read this? Yes.

I tag: Jessicca and Yvonne (Yvonne I am sorry I think you may have already done this).

State Fair

You go to the State Fair anticipating to see the farm animals and attractions and then you realize that the actual attractions you end up watching the most are the people themselves walking around. It can be kind of entertaining to people watch when you are sitting at a bench eating your hot dog and fries that cost you $18 and sipping down your Dr. Pepper that cost you $4.50. We now know after asking on our way out that you can bring in coolers. Next year we will be packing our own drinks and food!

Mackenzie was excited to see all the animals!

Like mother like daughter. Unfortunately Mackenzie has the bug for horses like her mom. This hobby is one I will be sharing with her, because after she was done riding the ponies she ran over and asked her dad for a horse, of coarse I told her yes! If only having horses wasn't so expensive I would have a bunch!

I think I also passed on to Mackenzie my stomach for rides like this, she wouldn't let her dad spin the dragon cause it made her "tummy" hurt. Oh well at least we can still do the roller coasters together!

No, no, this is not a picture of my back end! Although this is how I am feeling right now. This cute guys name is 'Big Red' and he weighs just under 3000lbs! He also stands 6ft tall at his shoulder but he never stood up for us when we were there, I guess I wouldn't either if I had that much weight to hold up.

I really don't like pictures of me right now, oh well. I couldn't believe how tame this big guy was, deep down it made me want to buy a farm somewhere and have a bunch of animals. I am a big country girl at heart!
